Optimism is the only characteristic that provides us with the strength and determination to succeed, perhaps because it hides from us the full extent of the challenges that lie ahead! Were we to know all the challenges in advance, we would possibly have been deterred from taking them in the first place.

op-ti-mism – hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something.
