:: The little boy and the airplane

The last time we sat in an airplane was nearly 4 years ago and at 5 and a bit years old Iestyn doesn’t really remember a whole lot about the experience. Over the last year he has been relentless in his quest to head into the sky so I’ve felt obliged to try and remedy the situation for him.

Although the neverendinglist is in essence my ‘to do’ list, more and more of the items I’m starting to add to it involve other people and in particular my two boys, who seem to have bought into the concept of the list assisting me wholeheartedly in my random quests! Time to pay back some of that support.

Whilst there is no great achievement in taking a little boy on a plane, there is definitely a message that can be taken away from the experience. Seeing the look on his face as he boarded the plane was priceless, watching his grin extend as the propellers started to spin and sharing the excitement with him as the plane left the ground is a memory that will hopefully stay with us both for a long time.

Dreams don’t always have to involve climbing mountains, swimming seas or running across countries. Sometimes the simple little things can be just as rewarding.
